AUTHOR'S NOTE
In this book the settings are genuine, the culture is accurately depicted to the best of my ability, the characters are purely fictional.
From an early age I had a strong passion about write. Writing promotes self-healing both in mind and body, giving pleasure and benefit to our lives.
When this wonderful story came up, Forbidden Romance. It was just like a dream come true. I thought of Forbidden Romance as a Bridge of Love, it would be great if we could cross over, without thought of religion or nationalities.
After following other paths for many years. I have recently returned to my first love of writing and Forbidden Romance is the result, I hope you will like it.

Forbidden Romance
'Forbidden Romance' is based on a true story of love. This captivating story is not only and unforgettable romance but tackles the pain of suffering of two lovers trapped by two contrasting cultures. This wonderful heartfelt story explores and provides understanding of a culture very alien to the Western eye. The reader gains invaluable insight into two completely different worlds brought together through love.

A BRIEF REPRESENTATION OF THE CHAPTERS OF THE BOOK

issue would be the inner peace he sought and bring him happiness.
Of course, he told himself, it may refer to the fact that he will have moved on and would find another woman with whom he would settle down. He finally dismissed the thoughts, realising there was no point in speculating on the outcome and decided what would be would be. After watching an American western, on the satellite television, he decided to turn in for the night.
The next day, he went around the markets and bought himself a white linen shirt and a pair of sandals, souvenirs to look back on his second stay in Kuwait, which had proved so different from the first.
Omar came to see him that evening and they went out to dine at a restaurant, which Omar insisted on paying for. Pete gave him his address in the States and at the end of the night; Omar drove him back to the hotel. Getting out of the car, they hugged.
“Good luck with your quest my friend,” Omar told him, “may you seek the answer you are looking for.”
“And may joy and happiness be yours Omar my friend,” Pete told him.
They hugged once more. The American watched Omar climb back into the car, and then he leant out of the open window as he started the vehicle.
“May God go with you!” he shouted and with that, pulled away from the curb and drove into the night.
Pete stood for several minutes, looking at where Omar had driven off , his tail lights now gone and felt a tingle of sadness at their parting, he was a good friend, the American admitted to himself and he was happy to class him as such. Knowing he had a hectic day the next day, he returned to his room and spent the evening packing before he retired to bed.
CHAPTER NINETEEN
THE NEXT MORNING, Pete paid his bill and checked out of the hotel. Hailing a taxi, he went to the airport and booked himself a single flight to Syria. In one respect, he was sad to leave Kuwait but it was a strange contrast. Last time, he was saddened to leave someone behind, yet here he was, preparing to leave Kuwait a second time, but this time to see Mona, and yet he still felt saddened. Life, he told himself, was strange. Now, he was about to embark on the two final stages of his quest, not knowing what lay before him, or as Omar had remarked, how many thorns would prick him.
Pete’s flight was largely uneventful, though he could not help but feel a little nervous and a certain amount of apprehension, an American alone in Syria, a brief image, of a body lying face down in a ditch with a hole in the head, flashed before his mind, but he dismissed it, knowing it was human nature to envisage the worst case scenario. He did however, imagine how his friends, PJ and BM would react to learn of his journey, a few choice words no doubt.
The American was not prepared however to the totally contradictory reception he got at Damascus international airport.

Dear Dr.Kadri,
Thank you for the wonderful book which I read. It was so perfect. On every chapter I was waiting for the next impatiently. The style which you used on the whole story is very fluent. As I see you are very knowledgeable man about cultures and people and it is very great skill to put these observations onto a story. I have been told it is based upon a true story... Really congratulations ! I loved your original style putting the culture clashes and bridge of love and peace between nationalities and people's outlooks.
God bless you on your way and life...
